Üüüüüüüü (2011)

Üüüüüüüü is an installation consisting of a cluster of 8 mannequin-like heads, mounted on stands, approximately 1.5 metres high.
Each head will emit a quiet high pitched tone from each ear. This work is inspired by the idea that when a group of people who
suffer from tinitus are gathered together in a room, supposedly high pitches are audible by others.
The volume adjustment of the audio in this work will be dependant on the surrounding ambience of the gallery/outside,
but the subtlety of the audio component will present a sense of uncertainty in the audience that they are hearing anything at all.
It may initially be seen as an object-based installation, with the tonal cluster revealing itself over time.
