This is an excerpt from an
approx 10 minute video, illustrating
a moment of desperate loneliness
on the side of the road. Someone is missing the absent figure that
should be in the seat beside them.
This was a work produced under 'The Absence Project' banner, a
conceptual research period spanning
1996-2002 that produced a series of works about absence, loss and gaps
in the continuum of everyday life.
This video was part of two incarnations of the work, one ('I Miss You')
at Foyer Installation space,
Salamanca Art Centre, Hobart in 1998 and in the group exhibition
'Transmission'
(as 'I still Miss You') at CAST Gallery, Hobart in 1999.
